Support Worker
A Support Worker is responsible for working within a participant's plan to meet the physical, mental and social goals set out by the participant, family and professionals.
About the role
Job Description
All practices are participant-focused which promote their choices, rights and decisions. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with daily activities
- Facilitating daily personal hygiene
- Performing home-based tasks
- Undertaking tasks outside of the home e.g., shopping
- Engaging in community access and social activities
- Monitoring and documenting information
- Working closely with Families, Allied Health Professionals and Educators
Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current WWCC
- First Aid/Anaphylaxis/CPR Certificate
- Drivers License
- "Worker Orientation Module" and "New Worker NDIS Induction Module" https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
Selection Criteria
- Preferred 2 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the NDIS
- An urge for continuing professional development
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships
- Ability to use computer systems for record-keeping
